Now if you know me, you know I can't forget the minorities. Just 50 years ago, African Americans and other minorities could not cast their ballot for their own country. They could fight in a war, they could die for their country. But they could not vote. To commemorate all those who battled for their basic Civil Rights including the right to vote, I have included a clip from the March on Washington and the "I Have A Dream" speech. No matter your choice of candidate, you have to admit, its pretty incredible how much our country has progressed in such little time. Just the mere fact that Barack Obama has the opportunity to be President of the US, is incredible. He wouldn't have this same opportunity 50 years ago, 20 years ago, 5 years ago. So being a minority and a woman, I am twice as thankful.
So tomorrow, remember those who have given you the opportunity to be there. Don't take this responsibility lightly. Educate yourself. For one night, turn off Mtv's Hills, BET 106 & Park (in my case), your fantasy football league (Ryan's case) and turn on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC. Know what issues are important to you. But today know that with freedom comes responsibility. Be responsible. VOTE..."however you like."YOU CAN VOTER HOWEVER YOU LIKE
